Would that mean it is now an outboard clutch?
No Clutch. Remember, we're trying to make this light and compact. Every bit of weight savings = less fatigue in the woods.

re: Balance
I see you are not new to the high performance chainsaw game. You have a good eye for details that many would not immediately pic up on (including myself in this case).
I may have to add a large counterbalance weight to the other side of the saw. Maybe I can remove the air filter to save a bit more weight.

With the extra fuel used by that mod maybe mount a big gas tank outboard on the left side, course as the fuel was used up that counterbalance would change causing wrist fatigue. Yeah a solid counterbalance would be better but that adds weight....LOL

Yes the weight is a concern. Definitely a major concern here. I am in the shop looking at this, doing a mock-up... we're getting up over 150 pounds now. I think that is just about all you want to carry in the woods.

Maybe a lightweight bar?

I'm sure you people will come up with some brown note, resonance frequency, gyroscopic effect that will levitate the saw in tandem with a violent, total evacuation, bowel movement.
