The rim gives you a smidge more chain speed and adds the convenience of just swapping rims if you like..you can throw a .325 (stihl branded) rim on if you want to experiment or swap over.

The saw also has the balls to pull it..especially with a muffler mod or ported obviously.

It's a great saw.

It does on a 7 pin rim, and a spur drum if you wanna buy one.

I'd still use picco.

It's 42cc and you have to be somewhat light handed when you get into bigger cuts with 325 , less of an issue if it's ported.

The slimmer kerf of Picco helps it cut faster and not load it as hard.

I guess in theory the slimmer chain would cut faster, I never had the intuition to try it on bigger saws so I have no idea.

I just hope I'm as happy as I think I should be and not be wishing I had got the 261.

Out of all these posts, I've gathered I should leave the 16" bar on it and enjoy the PS3 chain. Forget about.325 or the 18" bars, and the rim drive adds no useful feature.

I've swapped all the 250s I've had over to the picco rim drive too..they definitely cut a little quicker and limb nicer.

You can't go wrong with PS/PS3/PM...I'd avoid the PM3.
