hi guys
I have a stihl 034 who give me a lot of troubles.
1. Piston was cooked so I put a new P&C (cheap AM) in it. I also rebuilt the carb, new fuel line, impulse line, intake boot (all OEM) and clean exhaust.
After a lot of tuning, the saw ran good for maybe 3-4 gas tank.
2. Now saw smoke like crazy and I cant tune it right. I have started at 1 turn each and all the variant, nothing seems to work.
Was could I do next ? What could be the issue ? I dont have pressure/vac tester.
I joint a video of the saw. Thanks,

I'm with Cuinrearview, it does look like she's sucking chain oil (if it's not your fuel mix !?! ) you could check the tension of the crankcase bolts, they may nip up and cure it, failing that sadly it's a strip down job!

Do I have a remove clutch and flyweel to reach crankcase bolt ? Never have to deal with those yet

I tried it again today, she smokes like crazy for about 20sec at wot and then she ran ok..if this is bar oil leaking in the crankcase, can I run it like that as a backup saw or i may damage something? I would remove muffler screen for sure since she spills a bit of oil from exhaust

In the short term you'll foul plugs and piss off liberals. Eventually the cooked oil will cause problems in the top end. I would make a plan to overhaul it.

I’ll check the tension of crankcase bolt but if it doesnt solve the issue i really dont think im gonna strip down this saw again since there is a cheap AM top end in it

Looks like your bar oil may have found it's way into the crankcase

A few months old post but Im back at repairing this damn 034. You were right, cylinder is full of bar oil. I looked at the 3 crankcase bolts on the PTO side. They seems tightly screwed. Do you see something else in the pic that look wrong and causing the problem ? What is the little hook for in the first pic, it goes nowhere.

Also since clutch is remove and I have seal on hand, is this a big job to change seal on the PTO side ? Do I have to crack the crankcase ?

I change recoil spring and starter rope but can't pull the rope, could this be because of bar oil in the cylinder ? There's a ton of it.
Thanks !

Removing and installing a pto seal isn’t that difficult. However, you may have more problems if you have oil in the crankcase/cylinder. That would require a case split to properly fix. I would replace the bearings and seals during assembly.

You could get a higher quality top end as well and have a heck of a saw. $$$, though, and a lot of learning along the way.
