Does anyone have knowledge how a 101 will handle a bow? I just picked up a bow bar off an XL 12 and maybe will remount it. It looks like a pretty big reconfiguration though. Thanks for your thoughts.View attachment 809462View attachment 809462

Bar mount pattern of an XL-101 has more in common with a small Husky than a regular D196.

5/16” slot vrs 3/8”.

50 Rancher with Homie SEZ or XL-101 roller nose bar.

It will handle it . You only cut with the tip of the bar. If I remember my Homelites the XL models had bigger bar studs than your 101 . If that is the case Homelite made an adapter to fit over the smaller bar studs to accommodate for the larger slot in the bigger bar mounts. Looks like a big S . Finding one of those is going to be tough. That 101 looks similar to the older blue model E-Z before they changed the color to red.

What about the oiler holes?

I know what your saying . I thought about that after posting . If it doesn't line up you may have to drill another hole . I have had to alter a few bars because of that . It isn't hard but you have to be accurate.

I believe the bar will be put on the shelf for now. One day I'll find an xl12 or other compatible powerhead. Both the 101 and the bar are in really nice shape and I don't want to devalue either. Thanks and take care.
