Rebuilding a Stihl 011AV chainsaw, have to replace the vent tube, I have a new, but was wondering what would be used to secure it in place, I was thinking of using Yama Bond or Dirko
I've used 'Seal All' on a gas tank once. JB Weld will probably work too. Supposed to be good for oily surfaces. You didn't have to replace the carb did you? I have a 011 that needs one and I can't find an OEM or a reliable aftermarket.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yard work before the rain. I only have the one 011 saw and I don't have any spare parts. As for the used carb you have, I'm going to have to think about it. I don't want to possible have to work on another carb. But I might change my mind if I can't find one.If by chance you have a stihl 011av carb, air filter cover in good condition maybe we can swap.
Okay thanks. I'll take the carb apart and thoroughly clean it and replace the diaphragms and gaskets in it as I have a new carb kit to do it. I will also pull out the high and low screws and clean them up as well and reset them to 1 turn out, I have the work shop manual for the Stihl 010av and 011av chainsaw. Just sold a complete rebuilt Stihl 011AV that I had and did and have a power head for another Stihl 011AV that I am fiddling with and just putting it back together so I can sell it as well. Put a new piston and ring on it and the cylinder was not scored at all.Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yard work before the rain.
