"Make it like new. If you need more money, just let me know."

So Im gonna need hotrod parts for an MS 460.
Please help...

Tell him to sell that saw along with giving his money back and tell him to put the money towards a new saw.
That saw has already been junkafied with chinese parts who put the cylinder kit on it? that alone is a huge step backwards not sure how bolting on more rubbish china parts is going to make it into a hotrod.
 
call your local stihl dealer to get parts, stay away from raismen or other chinese parts. I know there is a weisco single ring pop up piston available for that saw, that should knock some socks off. if you put a chinese or even tawain cylinder on it im willing to bet the cylinder deck to squish band is out of square by at least .01 if not more robbing the saw of significant power.
 
Just got off the phone with a local dealer.
He said he can get parts but they are pricey.
No more Chinese crap for me.
I also asked him if he could get parts for an 041 Farm Boss
from1984...
We both got a good laugh out of that one...

He told me I should quit fixing these old saws, and tell my pals to
go buy a new saw.. LOL

So last year, I put a new china clutch on this thing,
I ended up using the old clutch drum,
because the new chink one just did not fit properly...
From my fondling of clutch parts today I found/noticed this...

That is why the e-clip would not fit properly

because the new chink one just did not fit properly...

Every Stihl saw I have ever had, has a different washer then the one I see in the photo.
They are thinner and are a little off set so one side is the inner and the other the outside. The recess goes to the outside against the E clip. The washer you have there looks to thick.
 
This washer is the stock one that was on this saw.
It would not fit with the chink drum..
It fits fine with the stock drum..

The chink one is .015 thicker.. not made right.

This is what I been seeing with the Chinese Crap.

Now I have found the Hy-Way piston and cyl. are scored and the wristpin bearing is junk.. I installed that kit in 2015..

I stress to these guys that these saws are money pits but they wont listen to me.

I went to the stihl dealer today and ordered a clutch assy.
for this MS 460... 60 bucks..
I asked the guy for a price on a piston/cyl kit... 280 bucks.

I came home and ordered a kit from Meteor...130 bucks..

And the wheel in the sky keeps on turning.
 
If you are like me , You struggle with wristpin clips.
You need three hands...
This could be a thing ..IDK or care..

It is an old trim/door handle tool.

It slips right in and holds the piston ...
Kinda..
Till the clip goes a-zinging.
