If you are like me , You struggle with wristpin clips.
You need three hands...
This could be a thing ..IDK or care..

It is an old trim/door handle tool.

It slips right in and holds the piston ...
Kinda..
Till the clip goes a-zinging.

Use a thicker block under the piston, it makes getting the clip inserted easier. I made my block from full one inch thick hardwood back around 1970, still using it but have a couple of those red plastic jobs now that come with the ring compressor sets.

Here is the little bag the rings came in..
Towards the top/right there is a symbol of the ring gap orientation.
What is the other symbol...
Yes Im that stoopid. LOL

That symbol looks like rings that have no ring keepers, many vintage saws had small round ports so the rings would not catch in them, those did not need the ring keeper pins in the piston. The black area may indicate the allowable ring end gap, not certain and someone else may have a different take on that.

Taking this one to the woods soon.
This time I used a piston/cyl kit from Meteor.
Made in Italy...
I did use a Stihl base gasket and wrist pin bearing.
Could someone tell me the max RPM for one-o-these?

It is FUN!
