If it's free it doesn't matter.
Might be Bradford Pear.
Did it come from a woods, or from a residential area?
Bradford is an invasive so it could have been cut almost anywhere but not likely in a deep woods.
The branch unions look like Bradford.

If it is, those are the largest Bradford Pear logs I've ever seen.

Looks like basswood to me. If so, it's poor firewood.
I thought so at first glance.
I have to go by memory, as I'm many, many miles from NE hardwood country.
If it's hickory, it'll make good fuel.
Cut & split a piece. The inner wood should give a better idea of what it is.

I think this is correct, based on how the split section of wood is, Bradford splits uneven, almost cracks because of the crooked grain. And yes it is good fuelwood!

Looks like Eucalyptus wood to me.
