Cut Split Stack Burn

What type of wood did you use?So, back to firewood stuff
Broke my handle. Decided to make one
If it brakes again, Iāll buy oneView attachment 1051771View attachment 1051772View attachment 1051773View attachment 1051774
Oh ok Roger. Ash is good too isn't it?Not the right stuff
Red Oak
I did a hammer handle in red oak 8-9 years ago, itās held up. I have a ton of red oak, itās easy to whittle soā¦.
My buddies were all telling me, Hickory
But red oak is what was laying around View attachment 1051778
Family Ties! Good stuff! Good on ya guy's!Found a brick of primers????
More like you have a nephew that loves you!
That was your 70th birthday present, remember???
Canāt wait for your rifle to be done either, itāll look cool up at camp next to my stainless Whelen Ruger.
Be safe going up to camp tomorrow, this weather is crap!
Now you're just showing off! While making me drool envy in the process!Sawyer Rob, 25-20??? Sheās all the way to the left in the āMarlinā Family photo View attachment 1051762View attachment 1051763View attachment 1051764
I tried to go through them first, would have only taken a month instead of 4+ months, but they DO NOT CHAMBER 338-06!!!I've never tried a shaw barrel, but I've had five custom barrels built by x-caliber up in Montana.
Matt, thanks for the primers, but I also found a brick (1,000) large rifle on my own. (CCI) I like to have extra!Family Ties! Good stuff! Good on ya guy's!
Excellent idea!I need to get a bigger table for my Winchester collection family photo
Maybe when the wife goes to visit her mom, Iāll use the āformalā dining room table
Is that really a left hand gun or is the image flipped? The revolver is for hunting, I never hot rodded it. I designed a Keith style 25 cal. SWC bullet for it and have swage dies to make them.
Was your T-bolt current made of Belgium made? Mines Belgium made,
I don't like the new ones, they cheapoed them!
SR
...nor anywhere else!Nice! I inherited a Belgium made Auto-5 that belonged to my father. As well as a S&W revolver in .22 Jet that was my grandfather's. I don't fire the pistol often at all. Simply due to the fact that .22 Jet isn't easy to come by on the Island.
I have 2 Ruger American rifles, one in 300 blackout, and one in 6.5 grendel. They're low priced and very accurate, the barrels are excellent for a budget rifles... much easier to clean than almost anything else I own.I tried to go through them first, would have only taken a month instead of 4+ months, but they DO NOT CHAMBER 338-06!!!
They make barrels for the Ruger American Rifle, and that barrel nut is through them, but I almost could not believe they don't chamber in 338-06! STUPID!
338-06 is what I wanted, and the more I know about it the more confident I am that I made the right choice. I wanted something like my 348 Winchester with a scope (my eyes are older, and they have stupid 3 pt a side restrictions up at my property for the last few years). That makes it exceedingly difficult to efficiently hunt with open sights.
If they still made the Marlin lever gun in 338 Marlin I'm sure I would have been very happy with that, but I'll just have to settle on a bolt gun. It will be like the 348 on Steroids!
It will wear a Vortex 3 X 9 X 50 Crossfire II scope ... should be nice and bright. I currently have 3 Ruger American Rifles (2 in 30-06, one will be converted). They are light, rugged, point well and really tame the recoil, so I figured they would be perfect for this project. I've already modified 2 magazines to function with the 338-06.
RE the 3 Pt rule... yes, it does make it more difficult. Sadly it doesn't stop guys from shooting first and determining later. I've found two dead illegal bucks in the 66 (?) acre patch of woods where I have permission to hunt. I carried the flintlock all season and didn't see anything legal after glassing them with binoculars.I tried to go through them first, would have only taken a month instead of 4+ months, but they DO NOT CHAMBER 338-06!!!

Good feedback brotherKodiak Kid, you don't want that grapple for firewood. It will not pick up splits worth a crap and dumping is a problem because the splits get caught on the hook on the tines. A round tine stone grapple works better. I would look around to see what other people are suing if you can't try one out first. I've had maybe 10 different styles and hated most of them. I have the grapple arms off in this pic. I only use it for pushing piles of splits up. Grapple doesn't open wide enough to be of much use. The 2nd one with the stickers on I have only used a couple times, I hate it too. Splits kept getting stuck in between the frame, it's still sitting on the fence line I think. The forks are nice for cutting rounds and brush. I use them the most. Bucket with grapple actually loaded better than the stone fork one. The 5th pic with grapple is long gone, hated it too. Didn't open wide enough and was way too heavy. If you scooped down into a pile of splits it would get a decent amount but still not what I want. 6th pic is same log grapple, it did okay on brush but bigger opening would be nice. I sold the big 3 point grapple when I built my new one. Yellow bucket is one I used to use to put splits in the basement. Right width for window and had a black plastic slide to get them down. The last picture is a manure tine bucket that works pretty good. That is a pic from online but mine is the same just a little narrower. I plan to add sides to it sometime. It works good for brush too. Now you can see why my wife complains about the equipment I have. Someday I should count the loader attachments.
What a shame ... and likely the same jerk shot both of them, killed two bucks and took home nothing!RE the 3 Pt rule... yes, it does make it more difficult. Nice shoot'n! Yank! Two of my Lever guns ... and these are 100 yd targets with open (peep) sights (not bad for an old guy)!
The Browning repro of the Model 95 is in 30-06, and my Model 71 in 348 Winchester!
Both with my reloads, the 348 using the Hornady FTX pointed bullet (no longer sold as a component).
Nice combo, and good shooting! I have the Browning repro of the Model 71, and original 95's in 30 Army (30-40 Krag) and 30-03.The Browning repro of the Model 95 is in 30-06, and my Model 71 in 348 Winchester!
