Haven’t had the opportunity to run a 2511 yet. If I could I’d run them both side by side. Really I’d be happy with either saw if given the choice
i think you would! sorta like hunting bear! nice to have the rifle, but when moments get tense... if... that side packed 45 is nice as a last ditch effort!

i do like my 2511T

Almost :) Bought a bag of 100 probably 15 years ago, still plenty left. The kit I have on the quad includes an old trim brush for such purpose.

I’ve heard lots of good things about the 2511. Really wish I could get the chance to make some cuts with one

Working on the franken365 today. Pulled the carb off and it IS a Walbro RWJ-4B which is the factory carb for a very 372 Xtorq.

I went ahead and pulled the cylinder and it appears to be a OEM 48mm non strato charged jug.

I tried putting a standard 372 carb on it but no nice with the air cleaner set up I have.

Also looks like it’s about time to be freshened up.

imo, slick lil saw! i think of it as a hot rod! :chainsaw: but, while it kicks :buttkick: the one posted up ported ran like a T/F Dragster! well, imo....

hey LP - :wtf: if i know! all i know is Murphy visits way-y too often these days! so to keep rain water for other day out of bucket... i flip it. has a lip, so catches bit with bottom up. i need it out of my way. nice day yesterday, warm and i am in a hurry to get outside. so shorts and rubber boots for a bit. i push the bucket out of my way... i guess Murphy thot i should push harder... so in a flash, happened faster than a broken shoelace... the bucket goes one way, the water the opposite... hits the lip and does a parabolic inverted curve... up... up... and most of it... up, and then down into my boot thru top! instant wet sock! 💩

could have done w/o that! had to stop and change it out...
for those who think, should if any... a pix of Murphy's visit... lol

i was a bit pzz'd to say the least ~

Because?

Edit: Never mind, I read your explanation.

I’ve wore out two bars with mine, and the caps still don’t leak.
well, :wtf: about that!! heck, i tried to wear out just one bar... but they kicked me out before things got too out of hand... lol :drinking: i just kept saying :givebeer:

but, just happens happened here yesterday. one bar, bad deal! guy got too drunk, tv news used that word... drunk! and left the bar. in tact. but he was not. so soon was at twice the speed limit they said... and of course... BAM! a head-on, killed 2! the dui driver was not killed...

now they want to sue the bar, too!

Yeah I’ve seen lots of vids of them when ported, little animals they are. The 151 I ran was stock, didn’t get the chance to pop the muffler and see what it could possibly gain from a muffler mod

Stihl flippy caps are junk, they are ridiculously over engineered, and a pain to use.
While stihl has some great innovations their flippys are not one of them.
For you guys who've never used a real flippy cap, you'd hate the stihl ones after using a husky flippy cap!
Flippy caps just suck on stihl. Hated them at the township and hate them on the stohl saws I have at home.
Guys on another forum are telling me to do this, because it’s easier than swapping the bucket.

Not a bad idea, would definatly be easier then swapping out a bucket.
Sawed up some doggone dirty cedar logs today.
Awful hard on handsaw blades... I hate mud on logs!

I missed out on the flippy cap debate.....

Stihl caps are a great idea, but an awful design.
Husky flippy caps work fine, but I don't like em.

I've yet to see a saw with a good oil cap arrangement...... there's always way too much topography in the oil cap region, in my opinion.
Heck I've converted most my older husqys to their new flippy cap design, I like them.
I agree with the oil fill location just sucking on most saws. Only saw I own that is nice is that redmax 40cc. The oil tank and fuel tank are both in the rear handle. Cap is a little small on the oil tank, but nothing is in the way.
I admittedly don't know much about them, but my natural inclination is to run fast and far from a modern VW product.
An 08 isn't modern by any means. From past experience and the guy I work with they seem to hold up pretty well. Don't know much about the auto trans though, I've always grabbed stick shift up. I was told the newer autos were pretty robust.
