Today's junk yard scrounge consisted of pallet fork upper hanging plate and six grader blades for $20.

However, The two 55gal drums of diesel. The black fifteen gallon drum of #1 heating fuel oil, the three fivers of gasoline and the Toyota Tundra Farmer fill up was not quite as good of a bargain as the junk yard junk. Especially at the cost of $800 for today's fuel!

With her worn shocks and leaf springs. The Tundra Farmer just can't take being "OVERLOADED" any more. Even a mediocre load like this will give the pickup a bit of a squat 😥

However, The auto parts store can help me fix that!👍😉
You should see my brothers Nissan titan. Good truck, but u thunk it was designed to sit on the bottom out pucks. Just the tongue weight of my deck over bottoms it out. That thing is an 18 to boot.

My AMX is running a group 19 AMC high lift cam with stiffer springs on flats . Has 67k hard miles never an issue still running points

Found a Picture of when I pulled it to change out the transmission which blew first gear . The clutch was also way to stiff so I put a Centerforce clutch in . Got rid of the scatter shield and put the stock bell house back on
I presume you installed the 2-4s??? Never heard of them coming from the factory like that.

I stand corrected (after doing some research). Is this what you have???

AMC also made an all-out assault on quarter-mile performance with the Super Stock AMX. At $5994, it cost $1900 more than a fully loaded regular 1969 AMX, the SS/AMX ran with the 390 treated to twin Holley carburetors, 12.3:1 compression heads, a set of Doug’s headers and exhaust system, plus a host of other modifications undertaken by Hurst. It was rather ridiculously rated at 340 horsepower by AMC, the National Hot Rod Association ultimately rated the SS/AMX at 420 horsepower and shuffled it among various classes: SS/G, SS/D, and SS/C. It could be ordered in all-white paint, or in the vertical red, white, and blue that banded the bodies of many AMC competition cars of the day. Only 52 were produced and most of those spent their entire life on the drag strip. Surviving models are extremely valuable.

They were an Option and could be ordered from the factory. The manifold is an Offenhouser with the AMC part number . I also have one of these it's an Edlbrock but has the AMC part number this was also an option . Both are extremely rare CROSSRAM-CHEVY-B.jpg

Not a factory done model but I bought a prepared 390 long block thru AMC performance in the late 70s my uncle was an AMC-JEEP dealer even at that time just the manifold and carbs with the linkage were 700$ dealer cost . Wasnt an easy deal my uncle had to fudge the order to show it was for a SS/AMX I had to put a special shim plate on the mounds as the new pan was 8 quarts and without the plates it was like an inch off the pavement . It has always had a 390 still have the original on a stand . It's completely rebuilt but the only way to check for somewhat originality is by date codes . Isnt like my Chevelle with the partial vin stamped onto the engine pad

The Offenhouser could be ordered on a stock 390

If that truck has leaf springs, you can re-form them pretty easily yourself. It takes a big hammer and a really big, heavy vise. You'll probably have to buy new shackle bolts & U-bolts, 'cause they tend to rust up too much to get off.

If you don't know the technique, I'll be happy to advise.

Yup , the stock springs are basically useless for carrying much weight, I put 700 lbs leaf packs in my Toyota .

Nice! Is yours a Tundra? You guys think Napa might have the springs I need? I was also thinking air bags? Might help a little bit along with the new shocks!

The pickup is 21years old.
She's been a great pickup and has taken care of me much better than I have of her.

Back in my hay days of crabbing and cut'n timber on the steep, and before my Squaw cured me of my self righteous evilness and wicked ways God bless her sole. I was what some considered. Well, 🤔 A little wild I guess?🤷
I've rolled that Tundra over upside in to the bar pit twice, set the entire bed along with the two gas jugs in the bed a ablaze in a roadhouse parking lot. and remodeled my neighbor's breakfast bar by putting the whole front end of it through their kitchen wall. Not to mention all the whips and small snags I've fell with the front bumper at 30 mph. Put a few other blemishes in her too in-between along the way!😉
However, ☝️ This was all in the days of my youth! When I was self righteous with evil and wicked ways about me, but my Squaw, God bless her sole. Cured me of all my heathen sin'n and foolishness years ago!

Now, what about them leaf springs?

I've put air bags on a couple of my 1/2 ton rigs in the past.....in my opinion are bags are only way to go if you want more load capacity.
An added benefit of are bags, is you keep the original squishy springs for a nice comfy ride, but when it comes time for hauling an OVERLOAD just pump up the bags a go!

Wow, that is rare ... I always wanted to find one of them, but they were always too $$$!

You must be a handloader! I don't think there are any factory loads for it. Does it have a peep on it?

Power very similar to my 348.

For those who don't know, a 35 Winchester is made from either a 30-40 Krag or from the 405 brass. Comparing it to the 30-40, it is not only necked up to .358, but the shoulder is moved forward so it can hold more powder. It is a very nice cartridge! Also note that Model 95 Winchesters (a lever action from 1895) are built to withstand the pressure of 30-06 ammo. Very few real locking lever actions can say that! Very nice gun/cartridge combo.
I bought it around the time the 100 year commemorative came out. Got it from the original owner, he bought it in 1910. He was moving into a nursing home and wanted a hunter to get it. No peep. From what I could find out, about 50% were drilled for a peep, not mine, and I wouldn't drill it. Shot a couple deer with it, but eyes were getting bad. I got ammo from Ardvaark Custom Ammo. Never had a problem. I read a while back where someone had issues with his ammo. When I got into Savage 99's I let it go, big mistake. For those that don't know, a 35 Winchester is not the same as a 35 Remington. I'll post a pic in a bit.

You don't think air bags and bigger springs?
