Interestingly, I quoted them less than a grand to install a cable across it last year. It has since cracked significantly more. 3/8" EHS would have held it together quite well.

After a long winter, things are back to a busier than ever start. Seems as though the tree gods have flipped the switch.
We’ve been working on this driveway job. Just cutting any poplars (customer no likey), learners and cleaning things up. We’ve pulled about 85 - 90 yards of chips out so far in two and a half days. No ropes or anything. What a nice job!
Also had one of my best workers ever from like twelve years ago come by looking for work, so that’s been a great help. That winter ******** is nothing but a smokeshow in the rear-view mirror now baby!

Full throttle baby! We are flat out. Pricing jobs accordingly and surprisingly getting most of them. The biggest thing I'm hearing is tree companies are not returning calls when a customer calls looking for a quote. Makes us look good.After a long winter, things are back to a busier than ever start. Good to see others getting amongst. Nice to have everything working, making noise & paying for itself.
Summer in the rearview mirror here finally, although still damn warm.
Sure plenty here often operate on a 'day rate', particularly for bigger jobs. How many hours do you consider as a 'day' for a crew?
Not much rest either, finished three day job today, straight into another 'day rate' job tomorrow. Five solid days a week is good.
Need more driveway jobs. MDS likey!!

Geez, that whole licensing system seems confusing from afar.
A little more simple for us, but I failed my Heavy Rigid license first try - breezed through with the road ranger gearbox, had it in the bag, last intersection turning into the street where the training centre was, got distracted by a big crane & lost gear, which was an automatic fail as well.
Was furious with myself.

Nice weather for the job!! Kubota digger looks mighty handy.
Time lapse shows how much incidental exercise you do during a days treework. Sometimes joke that after a solid tree day, you go to boot camp to relax.
It is amazing how much can be done in a typical day. Sharpening, truck driving, tree cutting, equipment operating, phone calls - a quick hydraulic leak and fix… truck driving again… estimates till 7:00.

He paid out of pocket, I guess he has a huge deductible.
I'd love to hear what some of you guys might have priced that job at. We were at $4200.00. With final clean up it took us an entire day. I believe I was priced to low.
I hired my buddy to come in with the kobota Digger. First time working with him so we took it slow and safe.
I think I'd be lucky to get $2500 - $3000 here. If a crane was needed $4200 would be accurate. Hard to say for sure from a video though.
The market has been pretty much destroyed here though. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a "tree guy". lol.
