Just figured I should reply rather than just like the post, don't want to get in trouble again lol.

I've seen the guys use them to knock out the face(which can be done with the slegde) and put them into the back cut as an indicator so they can tell when the tree starts to fall(which can be done with a wedge on the size trees I usually cut).
I need to buy another small estwing for driving wedges, the one I lost was nice for it and it was very compact so it fit well in the top of my tool box. Maybe one that's a bit bigger wouldn't come up missing though

MAN..........does this thread move fast! I was off of here for eight hours or so, and three pages have gone by already!
You guys are a bunch of beer snobs LOL. Apparently I was raised under a rock, because I know NOTHING about beer compared to you guys, and I'm 55 years old! But in all honesty, I never really even drank beer until about a year ago. I spent most of my life as a strictly Bacardi consumer. I've left that alone now, and have a few beers, but at this point, I'm strictly a domestic guy. And when I really feel like getting fancy, I'll buy a few different six or twelve packs of Leinenkugel's. That's a local favorite around here, but I've got to admit, I haven't found one that I'm crazy about yet.
I'll have to hang around more, and learn about some of the better beers.

I used to think many years ago that congratulating a grandparent was a bit strange (after all, hopefully you weren't directly involved) but one day I realised that you've managed to bring up a child that values the concept of family and that is a great thing, my friend.
