It looks kinda ratty in the pics, unlike some of the nice clean ash and oak pics you blokes (used to) post. But it's clean burning and solid BTUs so I'm very happy with what I've been getting. Especially now I'm up to around 22.5 cubes or 6 cord from the one tree

The rakers on Limby are scientifically set by my 2-in-1 file . With a near new chain, he started bending right, especially with the bar buried. I noticed that I had been filing poorly - trying to go too fast, I had pushed through with my right hand at the end of each stroke and had one side well over 30° and the other well under 30°. So I have given it a few more more careful filings with a bit of use in between and it has made no difference, still just as bad. The bar doesn't appear to be bent so I'm wondering about the rails like @Lee192233 suggested. Maybe my poor filing led to uneven pressure and wore the right side down more? Not that it had a lot of use after that.

I had to take the Cowcat Mk2 into the vet this morning to get her fangs sharpened and it is right across the road from the chainsaw joint so I took Limby in. I'll pick it up tomorrow and find out what the story was.

The 241 has a 16in bar and 0.325 RS chain. It does well in our local hardwoods. The exception may be dry bluegum which is substantially harder when dry (12kN on the Janka scale) but I don't think I've used it on that. I've been very happy with it and I think it is the saw I have used the most in terms of time. In terms of volume of wood, Limby probably stihl has the goods and the 460 is catching up.

I have picked up quite a few Husqvarna saws recently that have cut unevenly. I pulled the bars off and ran them across my bench grinder ever so lightly to see if both sides of the rails were hitting the stone. I found that they were uneven. A couple more light passes evened them out. They cut nice and straight now.

As soon as mama picks one, the other will be up for sale. Waiting to put a 4x4 switch in the black one. Factory switch is junk and I believe it's stuck in 4 wheel high. Pulls super hard to the left. Had a 99 do the same thing. Put a new switch in and no more issues.

I'm a firm believer bar rails should be trued up every now and then. I have this little gizmo I got holds a file in it and has a 90* piece to hold the file flat. I run it down the bar in both directions a few times every now and then. Your be surprised how far off a old bar can get thats seen a few chains. Add in any sort of dirty wood. Since I started dressing my bars I haven't really seen any uneven cut issues, and everyone knows my left side sharpening isn't as nice as my right.

That happened on 680 in nocal some yrs back as well. Lady was killed caltrans had to clear a bunch of trees away from the hwy right after that.

There were a couple similar things in NY on the Thruway. In one case a rock slide killed a driver. That led to a system wide effort to move back all the rock cuts, remove anything thing that was loose, and in some cases place what looks like chain link fence over the rock faces to control anything that comes loose. In another case a tree fell and killed a motorist... A massive tree removal project resulted from that. The Thruway was maybe 40-50 years old when those things happened and I've noticed that tree maintenance occurs more frequently now...
