The Oregon 88-018 blade grinder looks like a nearly perfect copy of the RBG original. If you are getting that for $175, that is a screaming good deal.
That is what I am paying for it today. I saw what it costs new, $900, and couldn't pass it up.

Got out for a little light scrounging after work this arvo. Will had told me about this dead broad leaf peppermint that had fallen a few hundred metres from his place and had been pushed off the road. Better get after it before someone else does, he said. As if I need to be told
Stupidly, I left Limby at home, figuring that the 460 with 20in bar would be enough and the 241 for backup. The 460 abruptly started cutting around corners - I guess I either hit an embedded stone or the bar is knackered like happened with Limby recently. Wouldn't surprise since it is the original bar from 13 years ago. So that left the little 241 with his 16in bar to do the job. Way out of his weight division on a 25in trunk but he got it done. Look at him sitting up there like a Jack Russell that has just taken down an elephant.
Termites had taken a bit out of the fat end but at some point black ants had found them and cleaned them and their mud/junk out which was good. Cut up the log up on the bank as well but left the one in the gutter as I was running out of time before I had to pick up Cowlad from the bus. Mostly halved those ones and chucked them in the ute, split a few up to help it fit in a bit better.
Split up the rounds from the other three logs and loaded the trailer.
A couple of cubes of ready to burn broad leaf peppermint
. Coveted at the start of the burning season going from trailer to fire, now it's just firewood to go in the shed for next year or the year after.

My logging buddy turned me on to them. Best cheap tarps money can buy. Think the one I got is a holiday Inn. Makes a great tarp for the log pile.

Harold and I were doing work up at the cabin yesterday. We took a lunch break in the cabin just after 11:00.

Looks like the weather is going to be good this Monday and Tuesday. I got the forms up for the second half of the shop floor last night. It's gonna be a bit of a push, however I got concrete scheduled for Monday morning 10:00am. Truthfully I'm feeling rushed, but I really just want the concrete done before it gets too cold out. We've already been dropping overnight temps into the upper 50's and lower 60's. Fall is a comming..
