:givebeer:

Went to the log yard today to get my fix. This is just two of the many piles out there.

The first is one of the Ash piles out there. The second, which I worked on, is the Oak. Nice sized stuff. Most is 12-14" dia. at the biggest. Just about the max I want to lift into my bed.
Whittled away a little on the pile and ended up with a pickup load.

Maybe tomorrow I'll take my trailer and get two loads since we've had all this dry warm weather. I can drive down to my main stack and dump it off.

Well, they must’ve tighten the profanity filters in here. Even “sit” is blocked now.

see if anybody recognize this quote:
“I got that sheep nure, I got that horse nure, I got that cow nure….I got all kinds of sit for sale!!!!”
No sit?

Brakes? Who needs brakes 🤪
back in the late 80s we had a regular customer buying our Almond firewood out of the orchard.
He had a F350 flatbed and a 2-cord trailer. green Almond is around 6,000#/cord. Just slightly overloaded, lol.
one day he couldn’t stop at the end of the freeway off-ramp, proceeded into cross traffic and into/under a loaded semi. Totaled his whole setup and wood everywhere. He was sited, fined and had to pay all cleanup costs as well as repairs to the semi. His Ins dropped him. A month later he came back to the orchard with a Ryder box truck and proceeded to fill it with…5 cord.
some guys never learn…

yea, you can get all that wood on there but can you stop it? 😉
Not much gets your heart pumping like cooked brakes and coming up on a YIKES situation/intersection

I call things like that a lonely feeling. I was feeling very lonely back in 1996 while I was falling two stories onto cement. I highly recommend avoiding those types of lonely feelings. :omg:

Good question!
I drive slow and responsibly when "OVERLOADED" and have good brakes on the pickup and trailer. Plus good engine braking in "Tow Haul Mode". I can bring a four cord load to a stop reasonably quick and safely just fine. Seasoned Spruce is light!👍

Near to the last of the fence killer oak but for the trunk. It was broken off previously about 15 feet up, and now it broke about 5 feet up. Most of it is punky and just about disintegrates when you try to cut it. A couple of large branch rounds left and that's gonna do it. I *might* have overloaded the second trip just trying to get that "one last round" finished.

Evidently you bounced back.
Put me out of the construction business. I was out of action for several months. Shattered all my ribs on one side, collapsed a lung and pulverized my spleen. The wife of the guy I was building the building for called an ambulance. When I could finally breathe I yelled to her to cancel it. I walked to my truck and grabbed a cigarette and a can of Mt. Dew. Volunteer first responders showed up and said it looks like your having a hard time breathing. I said you would be too if you had just broken a bunch of ribs. Then I chased them off. I had to yell at my help to get back to work. Then about 45 min. or an hour later I wasn't feeling very good so I had one of my guys take me to the emergency room two towns away. Probably was a good thing I did.

Howdy sxroungers. Long time no chat. Picked up some "new" Hooskies the other day, market place score. Another nice 254, a 242 or 242xp, and a 246xp (which I read there weren't xp versions, but pretty sure the top cover says 246xp.

The 242 is a little beat up. The 254 fired right up and cuts good. Need to try to run the others.

Hope y'all are doing well. Ready for firewood season.
