I get delayed every time, I always ask is it because I’m a junior or is it because of my colorful past. They never know I went to the pawnshop at noon was delayed and I’m just pulling back in now at 2:37 to pick up the Rifle, not the end of the world and kind of reassures me that the system works and people that should not get them don’t

Not to be a smart pants but they do....

I have seen several people declined when trying to buy a handgun. Wonder if they knew they had to pass check or if the figured they could answer no and they would get approved.
No offense taken as I said I haven't really looked into the news stories I see. Just remember images of kids carrying assault type weapons on the city streets. I don't know what Missouri laws are and how the kids got the weapons. Parental permission? I don't know, but more importantly, why? It's like the old West over there.

And yes, I do know most places have methods to screen people wanting to buy firearms. As in Illinois. Must apply for a FOID card (Firearms Owners ID). It's NOT a firearms registration of any type, just to identify the card holder that they've been through a back ground check.

And not to be a smarty pants either, but you should have to get proper training to say what you want too. Then again, maybe you forgot, it's a right, not a privilege ;).
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. See my reply to Steve and see if my comments make sense.

They delay me for 3 days every time ... and I have full carry in NY + CT!!! (It is due to a false arrest in 1978 that NEVER gets cleared).

They system is broken, they don't fix it, and then they want you to give them more responsibility!

Then, some guy in Vegas buys 30 of the same semi auto rifles, all with big mags and ammo, and NO RED FLAGS go off!!!

The system is BROKEN, either fix it or get rid of it. It was supposed to be an "instant" check.

It is foolish to reward incompetence with more authority!

Please define an assault weapon. Even the head of the ATF couldn't do that in his conformation hearing. Is a rock, a sword, a pistol or a shotgun?

I split the rail trail ash yesterday and hauled it to my girlfriend’s house. Wednesday the MS461 threw nice chips, no rotten wood dust. The rounds ranged from 16”-18” in diameter and I got 16-20 pieces out of each. I’m sitting by a fire now… mostly ice storm maple but some rail trail ash too.IMG_6362.jpeg

I think we need to get this thread back on the chainsaw and Firewood and that kind of stuff. I don’t want to get us in trouble if we get too political. I know I can get quite worked up, and I know all you Other red blooded men can be worked up too

Just got off work, headed home, maybe I’ll go hang out with the brother-in-law tonight

Mite be time for me to write a letter to Santa. I have been very good this year. Well mostly good. Well maybe a little good. Oh heck guess I'll just get my own presents.
So, you know that part of the lion king movie where the bad uncle lion says"oh I'm surrounded by idiots" ? I did some Christmas shopping before work and found a tee shirt with that on it, couldn't resist and bought it for myself. I fully plan to wear it to work after then new year and will likely get written up for it as well, but it will 100% be the best gift I could have got myself. Lol.

Ok. Back to saws and wood n stuff. Make Arboristsite Great Again! Ooh aah!
I have been hearing a lot of buzz about the new Stihl ms462. I have a ms460. On paper they're pretty close with the 462 about a pound lighter. For those of you who have run both, is it really that much of an upgrade?

I have an 046 Magnum and haven't run it since I got my 462. The 462 is lighter and has more power.
