Boy do I love pork! Probably my favorite meat. No, not probably. It IS my favorite meat! I eat many types of wild and domestic animal meats and pork is my #1 choice.👍

Just kidding

My daughter had a “pet” pig that’s gotta be 700lbs

Up at camp, Since Uncle Mike is the oldest I call him Ben
My dad the engineer, we call him Adam (the smart one)
My giant nephew is Hoss

I flip between little Joe and (when cooking) Hop Sing

🤣
Ah... reminds me of my college room mates. We were Goldilocks and the Three Bears. One was Yogi, One was Bo Bo, you know mine, and then there was Goldilocks. Goldilocks was the one who didn't fit in... he's also the one who bombed the on-campus dorm. I guarantee you that Goldilocks has that porridge smoothened in white sugar like everything else s/he consumed.

We had venison rump stakes two nights in a row, Venison is my hands down favorite meat!

And it is really good for you!
fresh PNW salmon for me! but i'll go for venison any day of the week! i got some in freezer and some deer sausage, sorta like kielbasa... long, curved U, etc.

it's all 'backstrap' to me... well, not the U sausage! lol... i make medallions, roll in flour, season... and gently fry in bacon grease!... prefer just under med/rare! 👍

always a winner!

I have 2 places to get wood from, one isn't accessible at all when the field access is wet, the other I can get to the pile reasonable well but it's too soft to load the trailer without leaving deep rutts. Let alone skidding the logs with the winch on to the trailer, really digs up the yard. Need a good freeze for sure.
for me, primarily one place. sometimes up at the ranch we gather. currently prob have 5 or 6 new wood piles from tree clean up and some fence line trimming...

but for me, mostly one place. just down the street or around the corner. never have to drive or truck on to get it... it comes to me. so much, i oft pass these days! in my neighborhood it rains oak! one way or another! been like that past many years.

constant! :chainsaw:
:chop:

I was shocked to learn that Louisville Slugger bats were manufactured in Hancock NY! Likely trees from my property (formerly owned by Mallery Lumber) were used for bat production and used my many of the greats (Ruth, Mantle, DiMaggio, etc.).

I currently have access to Black Walnut (down here), and Black Cherry and Ash (upstate), (not sure if Ash is good for stocks, but I know the other two are). If you are interested in some blanks, let me know and give me the dimensions you want. Otherwise, it will likely be used for other stuff in the Spring. I'm thinking of doing some projects with Ash butcher blocked with either of the other two. Would be nice contrast.

I also have 2 HUGE Sugar Maple logs that I have not milled yet! (see picture)
me, too! still have some. small chunks n limbs. don't burn too well, imo. so tossed out a bunch. still got some smaller to cut up. one way or another it will burn ok with the oak...

black walnut is a special wood! i have a 6 or 7' fireplace mantel made out of a slab. close to 2... 2 1/2" thick!

i will keep some and burn it, just out of respect to the type of wood it is!

It was 231 in 1934. A guy rode a small avalanche on Washington over the weekend while skiing. I don't think he was injured.
i have skied all over WA! wet snow, deep on the W side of Cascades... and light powder on the E side... some great skiing in that PNW snow any ways one (pardon the pun) cuts it!!! lol

234 mph I think it was , there’s a lot of people who train for Everest go there , because of the weather and climate, conditions can be brutal, there’s three different weather systems that converge over Washington and surrounding mountains, two men pasted away in June back in the late 90’s because of a freak snow storm , they got stuck, couldn’t make it down,
air and water. Tsunami docu vid on tv tonite. watched it.

said 300 mph winds same force as water at 10 mph!! :surprised3:

Same boat here. We got a lot done a couple weeks ago but frost is back out now, was raking some rough dirt three days ago. Looking better by weeks end.
ice scares on tv weather past couple nites. 1st nite here: 37f!! but i had covered my tomato plant. then another ice scare. and 41 or so. maybe 39. i gave in to probability. covered my tomato plant again, last nite. wasn't too cold imo when i went out late to get more firewood...

this morning: heavy frost on all the roofs!! ~

sometimes ya jist git lucky! ~

I got my Meteor piston in today.. I installed it and put the jug on without a gasket to check the squish. The piston just hits the jug when all the way up. With the gasket it has .028 squish. For now I just put it together. If I keep it I might take .008 off the bottom of the jug to close up the squish. The new piston appears to have a chrome finish on it. I was going to chuck it in my lathe and take .020 off the top of it. If it is plated then that would not be a good idea to turn it down as it might cause the finish to flake off. The saw runs super rich right now. I'll set the carb tomorrow on it.
Nice, good you didn't try to jerk it over like that :surprised3::lol:.
Never heard of that before(chrome on a meteor piston), but they are pretty shiny.
Maybe @Orange Ripper could cut you a .020 gasket for that 254, he's been making some gaskets.
On the 2 series saws I've had, they run stronger a little rich, not pig rich, but fatter than I typically tune my saws.
