Here’s a picture of my backyard, it’s rural enough

Sometimes I wish it was more rural

I gotta drive half hour to tractor supply

Or supermarket, well there is a little one 15min away

The taxes in this commie state are what stink the most View attachment 1155002
I hate to say this but somebody has to pay for that big shathole called NYC. It is going to get worse with Adams in Office and Voodoo as Governor.

I was in the Glenville blows....er Lows the other day looking for a new freezer. There was none, so I asked a guy why they don't carry freezers, he said they do, but don't put them out. I asked why, and he said because guys load them on a cart and push them right out of the store! Then he said, they weren't allowed to stop them, and have to watch them drive away with a FREE freezer!

I just shook my head!! lol

SR
That is pure BS. Lock the friggin doors and club the crooks. America is going to shat under stupid Democrats.

I am told upstate NewYork can be fairly rural yet..? true..? That machine is a Eastonmade Axis. Had it three or four years now. It's a slick trick for sure.
Yes this is my place . That’s not a road it’s my driveway. IMG_7518.jpegSome of the views around here IMG_0581.jpegIMG_5433.jpegmost of NY State is rural .

Unfortunately, almost every state has policies created in the urban areas by the majority population in the state that are pushed onto the rural areas. In my experience most people in the rural areas don't want/need the policies that create undo burdens on them or their families. I don't see a way to fix it because we're in a democracy and unfortunately the large urban areas now have more political clout plus now all the city transplants who got sick of the crime are bringing their ideals with them.:rare2:

Nice!
New York state is a beautiful place!
Every time I've driven across the state I want to move there.
If you stay away from urban areas even the school/property taxes aren’t that bad . Income tax is the killer here but you guess it evens out . I’ve talked to people about car registration fees and I’m shocked as to how much they pay per year . The most expensive vehicle is my 3500 Dodge $160 for two years my least my motorcycles they are 17.50 a year .

My home in the Catskills taxes are dirt cheap because I live within the park . NYC pays a huge amount on the properties they own in the area

We are not!
That's a big part of the problem, people shoving their crap down others throats, tgats not how a republic works.
Constitutional Republic. I pledge allegiance the the flag of the Unites States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God with liberty and justice for all.

Sorry for that show of ignorance. I had to go back to my basic Government class which I hadn't thought of since high school. Got wrapped up in my life I guess. Honestly, thanks for reminding me that we're a republic not a pure democracy. And yes I agree we are having policies rammed down our throats that we don't want/need. I'm almost to the point of throwing up my hands and moving up north and hiding in the woods. If we didn't have kids and family here I think we would've already.

Easy to forget when everybody everywhere calls our country a democracy. A good definition of a democracy is: Two wolves and a sheep at a table discussing what to have for lunch. A republic: Is a welled armed sheep ready to contest the wolves decision.

My wife and I have talked about doing similar many, many times recently. Same reasons as you family and kids has killed that idea off.... for now any way.

We have this same problem in Taxachusetts. The State is being run into the ground by Politicians. Now, like NY, with their sanctuary status will pay dearly for their screwups at the taxpayers expense. You just can't win.

I ask questions all the time, ya know why? Because I’m smart! Smart enough to know that I don’t know all the answers and smart enough to know that others do….

Ain’t no shame in my question asking game
Very very well said my friend
20 years ago when I moved to this town it was an event to go grocery shopping......and the we got a WalMart and everything that comes with it. Near time to be looking somewhere else.
Yeah, no kidding… In the old days you guys were halfway to Baudette. Now you’re part of the Twin Cities.
I’m sure there are states not nearly as voracious as NY…..
Yes, but definitely not MN

Hear hear

Good morning to all of my favorite wood heathens! You too SR-enjoyed the tractor pics!

Quiet morning here. Changed the oil in my truck and need to head to work and also do a bunch of errands. The oil pressure sensor in my 13 sierra has gone bad. It either measures 80 or zero. I know the older 5.3’s had the sensor buried way back on the firewall. I’m not sure if this one does as well? The nice thing compared to my 07 is that the alarm doesn’t go off endlessly when this one drops to zero.

A guy like you with lots of vehicles would like the Montana permanent registration. Any car or truck 11 years old or older is a one time fee of around $100 and that's it for as long as you own it. No safety or emissions inspections either. All motorcycles are permanent reg no matter the age.
That sounds great but I don’t think I’d like the winters I’m sick of them here

I’m contemplating doing a muffler mod on my 395xp . Not so much for power but to redirect the exhaust away from me while milling . I would us a removable thin plate to bloc the factory port during milling and open it back up and block the new port when I’m not
Factory port that I had modified by bending the tab
IMG_7826.jpeg

My proposed modifications IMG_7829.jpegI’m trying to get the exhaust up and away from me before the exhaust just shot out at the ground and the log
IMG_7830.jpeg
I guess I could cut the housing and hav it go out the side instead ?

That looks like it'd work well. Might have to do that on my MS650.
