I was at a friends house this weekend and he had just completed a shooting table from scrap lumber and mentioned that he wanted to add a shelf below the table top but ran out of lumber so I jumped at the chance to use my CSM for it's first real job. I milled a piece of Red Oak that has been sitting for about 6 to 8 years (was very dry and hard) and milled four slabs 1 1/2 inches thick then used a skill saw with a ripping blade to do the finish work, the boards are notched out around the table legs.

I had a great time doing this and now he wants some White Oak slabs milled to use for a table top for his coffee table and I'm actually looking forward to the work....

The mill is a Panther Pro 24" mill and the saw is a Stihl 044 with 28" bar.

here's a few pictures...

Really have to keep a sharp chain for milling, much easier on you and the saw. Looks yo had a good time. It is very addicting.
