little saw took a fit on me yesterday, cutting away and then coiuld tell it got very unhappy. shut it off, oil running from sprocket side of crankcase.
anyhoo question is. the way the oiling is set up it seems if the side cover doesnt sit perfectly flat on the bar the chain doesnt get oiled , or am i wrong here. anyway the srface that contacts the bar is about .020" warped. is this enough to not oil the bar and just let the oil run out on the ground, my leg, and everything else?
thanks in advance..

I would definitly flatten thing out, a shave with a sander perhaps? It is just a cover. I would also be looking at how the bar sits on the inside. That will make the biggest difference.
By the way, the oil tank vent is just above the bar, it has a cotter key in it. Make sure it is still there. The oil was not coming out the pump cover, just below the bar?
