I smooshed my 028 Super under a big hedge tree, and the plastic handle/tank assembly was destroyed. I bought a metal 028 tank/handle assemby from an AS member, but when I started to put the carb on, I noticed that the metal tank/handle assembly does not have the recess where the large washer (the one that goes around the carb bolts and rubber intake hose) goes, but the plastic one does. My question is: Does the metal tank take a thinner washer or do I eliminate it an bolt the carb on? If I put the large washer on (and there's no recess on the metal tank), and try to bolt the carb on, the throttle linkage is too tight and the idle screw doesn't hit the carb flange. Any help would be appreciated....
