028 WB replacement

Looking for a good replacement/additional saw for a tired 028 wb. Whats comperable in a pro saw for replacement. I'm predominately looking for a Stihl. But have some interest in the 5100s.
Thoughts?

I see you have a 034, why not just use it? more power less weight

The Pro saw replacement for the 028 is the MS260PRO. It is a bit lighter and has a touch more power than the 028.

A low hour 028 Super. Their out there you just have to look.

026 or MS260. Lighter and faster than the good old 028.

Or pick up a piston and cylinder kit (tecomec I think) for about $120 and freshen it up. The replacement cylinder is a super cylinder, so a little more cc's and oomph. KD

I pondered the thought of a new piston and cylinder kit. But didn't know where to purchase a good replacement. Is this something a dealership could find for me? Or could I purchase the parts and have the dealer install?
Also, is there anything else I should consider replaceing since it's apart?

If your handy, you can do it yourself. Not that hard to do. Maybe you have a friend or relative who may be able to help you change out the P&C. If you do use a shop to do it, find an independant shop, not a stihl dealer.
