I saved my husky 65 cylinder with muriatic acid. There is a thread on here with the details on the topic. It eats the deposited aluminum off the wall and cylinder looks pretty much new. I agree with Wood !

Cylinder is probably still good. Try the honing route to save the cylinder and couple that with new rings and piston. Sorry to hear that. Likely it was straight gassed for a tank, but you have to post Pics for us to judge that.

I'm thinkin I can clean it up.
I have a sand paper mandrel

I've cleaned many cylinders.
No longer use acid though.
I've adopted the Mastermoob Monkey Method

This is a really clean 028W with the metal tank.
Now is the metal "washer" (1121 121 8600) required with the metal tank saw? It's the spacer that sits against the tank housing and the carb.
Cause it's missing
