038 av mag runs great but...

I have an old 038 av mag ran when bought wouldn't idle replaced carb ,fuel filter and line now it dies if you hold the nose down to cut wood
If I can't get it right its going to the shop

Sounds like seals my old 034 did that same thing

What kinda seals we talking how much of a job is this

PTO side and flywheel side seal it usually requires splitting the case. Not a hard job I did mine in my bench vice with a deep wall socket and only took about 45 minutes seals I got were about 20 bucks

Watch videos on how to do it. You shouldnt have to split the case. Just a small drill bit and a wood screw. Might need a specialty tool if the flywheel has been on there a long time

Fuel pooling in the intake boot, running a bit too rich or carb leaking past the needle valve.
