Couldn't find info doing a search.

How do you get those red L & H adjustment limiter caps off?

I want to open up the muffler a bit and need to make some carb adjustments.

they are intentionally installed with one-way clips and will bust up if you force them off. I've had success by using a new blade in a razor knife and slicing off the raised part off the side of the limiter caps so they can rotate unobstructed. I just did this on a new saw I received last month.

edited to add: I'd take Kennertree's advice, I was thinking about the HUsky limiter caps. Sorry for the confusion.

You can run a dry wall screw in the top of the cap and pull. They will usually come off but they have to be lined up right.

Sthil makes a little tool thats something like a screwdriver that screws into the holes of those caps and pulls them out. Ask ya dealer, he'll show ya one, cost bout 3.00...
