Okay you 084 addicts, i have some more ???'s about my project. Here are some pics of the muffler. How many versions of mufflers are there for these saws. I think mine is an earlier/older saw. What would be a good mod for my muffler setup. I would like to still run the spark screen, but would like to get some easy gains for a work saw if possible. Any ideas?? Looking for an IPL and service manual also.

Take a dremel tool and hog out the exit hole on the muffler to about the same as the exhaust port, clean all the shavings out, retune the carb.

You could learn how to square file chisel chain. That's the fastest and easiest mod you can do for any big saw.

Square chisel chain? How and why does it cut better? I suppose asking if a square file is an obvious one.
