Steve here...
090's.... That's what I'm talkn' about!!!
How bout some pics and some info on your BIG AAASSS STIHL's!!

My old one I guess dates from the middle 70's came from Oregon.
My new AV came from Canada

This whole 090 clique really ticks me off. I'm a red man in a white (/orange) man's world... :)

G'day Steve,

I too got mine through Canada, and sent to NZ! Great machine for the Alaskan mill. Nuthin stops it! Heres a pic of it while it was still pristine and unsoiled! Got it with a 42" bar. I do sometimes wonder if I have a "more power" problem! :)
Cheers
Charlie.

Hey Charlie, here's a good bumper sticker slogan:
Slabbers never say "cant":D
Mine is not so pretty, came from Idaho.

Here is Rotax with a 2002 090 wearing a 60" bar. Greffards saw shop promised me any saw I wanted as long as I paid for it. Hard to beat that deal.

Hey Rotax, youve given me a case of bar-envy!
Heres another shot of the 090.
Cheers
Charlie.

Ah, 075 or 76. Very nice saws, less ostentatious than 090's. :) About the same size as my big dog but more powerful.

Yep, an 075. I think thats what it weighs, too.
I've got a 25 " and a 41" bar, running .404 full skip chain.
sits at home in my parents basement. too heavy for me everyday, but when I need a big gun...

I heard big saws are purchased by guys who came up short in other areas. I never put much stock in it though, since I never bought one:D

Huskyman, that saying may be true. I wanted to buy a new 036 but I came up short and had to settle for this old tank at $300:D

Steve here...
great saws guys...keep em comin

Hey John in MA,
Maybe you could start a Jonsey cult. oops, i mean club.....? Or maybe even hunt down an 090 for yourself!!
Steve

I've been thinking about starting an online silvertop or 111 registry ever since I got this thing. I know three other guys on this board have the big one, and a fellow who posted to R.W a while ago is another owner. They're rare as far as '70s big saws go. 090s, Huksy or Homelite 2100s, SD 166s are relatively a dime a dozen.

The hunt for an 090 is the continual quest. I only buy unneeded stuff if it's a killer deal, so I'm waiting until one presents itself for a couple hundred. I've seen it happen, just not to me. :)

Also trying to find a copy of the 111 review that appeared in a logging magazine from the '70s.

111

So John...
Not that I want to get off subject on this thread..But what's the Mystique about the 111...
Being in a sea of ORANGE...it simply can't be timeless, like an 090 a 911 or an old John Deere, can it?
Steve

ps how bout some pics of that 111!!!
