Got a scored ms260 pro. Need to replace slug & jug. I'm looking at the cyl and need to know how to determine if it's 44mm or 44.7. Above the Mahle name it says W2 and 44zk3. Other side says Stihl 1121. Enough to go on?

I believe either will mount. I also believe 44mm is the more desirable setup.
Rings a bell... Isn't there a difference in the stroke, or was it the earlier 026 I'm thinking of ?
026 and 260 have the same stroke. 024 has a shorter stroke. 024 super has the same stroke as an 026
The 44 mm and 44.7 mm will fit on both the 026 and MS260, some early MS260`s came with 44mm pistons and cylinders that quickly changed to 44.7 P&C sets to make up for the choked down mufflers mandated by the EPA.

Thanks folks. Ordered a P&C to restore my buddy's toasted saw. Pretty much my first work trip in Stihl-land. Done lots of work on my Huskies & Dolmars, but am a newcomer to creamsickles.

Same concepts. Look up the "string trick" to pull the intake boot through the carb bulkhead.
Oh yeah, everything is quite similar, just different. The intake boot on this saw appeared to be sound and intact, so we'll see. Install P&C and test for air leaks, then run saw.
