I bought a cylinder for a 281 on fleabay and the piston is 52mm but the wristpin is to small looks like a 272 piston. I'm wondering what the cylinder is now. The only numbers I can find on the cylinder are 06 89 I think is June of 89 and then K 004 2B Thanks for any help.

A pic would be helpful, but there's a couple of items we can look for.

Deco: If it has one, clutch side is a 272, starter side is a 281

Exhaust: Muffler bolts are spaced further apart on the 281 than the 272; about a 1/4". Just see how the jug you received matches your muffler and exhaust gasket.

Exaust bolts are the same and it has a step. No decomp. Looks like a 81 of some sort. Did the 281's all have decomps? Thanks for the help.
