I rebuilt a 2008 Husky 338xpt but I can't seem to get it run right. It runs too rich and if I turn in the H-adjuster the limiter kicks in at 8-9 K rpm. According to the specs it should run at 13800 RpM.
New carb repair kit has been installed, new spark plug.

Never mind, it draws false air again after I replaced the seals/bearings:mad: (headache saw)

Solved it- I 've put the cylinder clamshell-gasket on backwards :rare2:. Runs like a champ now!

You have to be careful when you set the coil gap on these saws. The coil is made for a larger flywheel so you have to cock it over so only the top two coil laminate ends are gapped and the lower one isn't. You may also do better to set the gap at 5 thou rather than the specified 3 thou. You can get some strange running if the coil isn't set correctly.
