371xp tuning

I just rebuilt a 371--new top end and crank seals. It's running like a sewing machine, maybe a little too well. I seem to remember 371/372 should top out at 13,500. I've got this one about 13,400, but it sounds too smooth, no burble at WOT. Is 13,400 a safe top rpm, or should I be hearing that burble?

For break in (1 or 2 tanks) I would back it down to 12.5 to 13k. After that, anything between 13 and 14k will work fine.
