I'm doing milling on big logs with a 36" bar and milling chain, so I have the oiling set to max, and the saw is going through a tank of oil a couple minutes before it finishes a tank of gas. Is this about what I should expect? I looked all around the empty oil tank with a flashlight and don't see any leaking spots. The vent is also tucked up at the top so oil shouldn't be coming out of it.
If this is normal, I'm seeing more reason why guys use an auxilliary oiler, even if the saw itself will do the job. At least maybe you don't have to refill the oil on every slab that way.

Thanks. Do you not fully trust the method to confirm good oiling, of spinning the chain over some surface for a few seconds and seeing the specks of oil show up there?
