Hello all!

First post...I've been wondering for some time why are 4-mix engines either all on or all off? I can't seem to figure it out. I have some basic knowledge of small engines but get stumped by this question. I'm a little dense so it may take some explaining in simple terms. :sweet:

Never had a problem with throttle response on my pole saw. Lay it on the wood, pull the trigger, it cuts wood without complaint . Sounds kinda snappy accelerating not under load, just not high rpms. I prefer this kind of power for pole sawing.

Have a Kombi that is 4 mix, works just fine. Wouldn't guess it's not 2 stroke.

My 4mix trimmer and blower have excellent throttle response. I often run the trimmer at part throttle when trimming against chain link fence.

I suspect your unit needs some adjustment. It's probably either carburetor or valves that need adjusting or maybe a leaking valve cover or impulse line.
