i am just dumb founded, the tensioner has way too much play, aside from welding something, or jb welding it in place, any ideas how i can fix this?? really i am looking for a picture of a good looking one if anyone has one they can help me look at with some pictures. Is the tensioner even correct? it seems if the screw head was bigger with a deeper groove, it would help keep it steady. Thanks in advance!

On your one the casting has worn away and as more play has become the norm the process has got quicker. It should look like this. You could likely improve with some jb weld but you do now have a lot of surface area to work with.IMG_3556.JPG

thank you!
can the adjuster be unscrewed?? that piece that goes into the bar, it comes off?

Yes, you can just lift the whole assembly out and unscrew it counterclockwise like a normal nut.. It is actually a good design as it is meant to stop the nut from self loosening, but yours looks likes it has been vibrating badly and worn the casing. It is a pretty easy fix. The biggest issu on these saws is if the chainbrake pivot casting brakes snaps off the case. This is hard to fix as it has so much force going through it.

my tensioner threads are screwed up then it gets stuck.
where is the chainbrake pivot casting ?? the hole on lower left side of the case where the clutch cover stud goes in? i had to get a clutch cover, the person used a screw who had it i think in that spot.
