Trying to decide what to get. Both saws would probably run 18" for firewood/limbs/storm debris clean up/etc. Yes, I realize I've owned 2 ms261's and am contemplating another. I suppose I could just get a 550xp instead.

555 is a hell of a firewood saw!!! If I needed a saw and had to buy a new one, it'd be a 555 or 545.

But I'm leaning toward the old school 346/353, 357/359 more now...Ported.

I have used both and would pick the 555 over a 261 any day of the week. I use 261's at work all the time and they are ok. A bit bulky for the cc's as it's size compares with our new 461 at work. 555 has noticeably more grunt in my opinion. Even here in our hardwoods it was running a 20" kinda ok. I would probably run a 18" if i owned a 555. After being more than a bit concerned with owning AT saws i am really liking them. I have been converted!

Lol you're in luck sunfish. I have a 346xp oe I might let go :D

Honestly since i got my Jonsered 2252/Husky 545 i have hardly used the 346XP NE. Mainly because i cannot fix the persistent oil leak. Light weight and balanced with good power. It is IMHO 95% of the saw the 346XP is.

I'm with you on the 357XP Sunfish. I still want to own one one day. Have not seen one in good condition at a good enough price to jump on it. :(
