660,064 help needed

just bought a stihl ms 660 off CL it needs some repair,the chain brake handle is broke but i have a 064 that i was going to rob some parts off. Is there any diffrence in the these handles? i can't tell,but the ones on ebay say the part no. for the 660 is ---- --- 9001,my 660 currently has a ---- --- 9003,the 064 i have has a ---- --- 9000,i look up one on ebay for the 064 its listed as a ---- --- 9003 ??? i'm confused

It may fit but the 064 handle was narrower if I remember right.

they should fit . i remember put a 660 handle on a 064. so i think it would work.

You have to do quite a bit of prying. The 064 handle is quite a bit narrower than a 660 handle.

i know that 9103 is a 660 brake with later model 3/4 wrap that's whats on my 660 ,9104 is for the half wrap ,but will work on a full or the older 3/4 wrap if this helps ,my flat top 066 says 9106 and came with 3/4 wrap factory why the older saw has a higher # i don't know but it's what is on there ,i have never has an 064 but i think the chassis is narrower ,i'm not sure if share the same handle on that saw

The 9001 will only wwork on a saw with normal handle. It won't work with 3/4 wrap handle.

The 064 and 066 brake handles don't interchange. You can put a wider 066/660 handle on the 064 chassis but then you have to add a spacer between the handle and starter housing. Unfortunately, that's the only way to put a new brake handle on the 064 since the 064 brake handle was discontinued in 1998.
