I should probably look for a service manual. Can't get clutch off so far. And the clam crap is undone on bottom of plastic. I think probably removing the anti vibe is called for?20220601_212614.jpg20220601_212609.jpg20220601_210646.jpg

Are Echo crank stems like Husqvarna ones- can you grease the needle bearing through the hole in the crank stem?
I would be WD40ing or similar- that grease channel and thread to clutch spider, let it sit a bit, blast it some more- maybe apply a bit of heat and after locking the piston, try removal again.

Use too much force- or too much leverage and you might just shear the crank tail off and ruin a sound $9 investment here.

Or PB Blaster rather than wd40...
Then, either buy an Echo clutch removal socket or make your own out of a large enough socket and a cut-off wheel.

Using a wooden dowel and smaller hammer can dislodge it enough to break initial seal and let your oil work around the rings.
Not such a flash idea if using a steel punch, the piston is at TDC or BDC and or the crank bearings are frozen completely solid.
But for a $9 investment- not a lot to loose.
It's bad lol. Crank bearings were frozen. I was able to get them moving freely lol. Piston is still stuck. Soaking from bottom with mineral spirits. 20220601_221538.jpg20220601_215616.jpg20220601_215609.jpg20220601_215327.jpg20220601_215321.jpg

The clutch came off with a few good wacks and a punch on the arm part. No damage done. Needles fell about. But should be easy to stick back with Grease.
The rust us pretty bad. At this point I'm not sure if these crank bearings would last long if this thing ever runs again lol.
So for now this is where I am. Stuck piston soaking from bottom with dirty mineral spirits. Scraped off as much rust as possible. Worked crank back and forth till it turned easy. Wrist pin is good. Corrosion on bottom of piston .

After a soak
