90cc 20inch bar?

I would consider 70-80cc enough for a 20", but a 90cc would do it..

If you can run a 56 inch bar on a 455 Rancher I would say a 20 inch bar shouldn't be to short on a 90cc saw. I could be wrong, after all I'm not a biologist.

Yup. Will work fine. Used to run 20” on an 066 and it was a pleasure to cut with.

I guess I just don't see the point in it. I guess there are 2 different philosophies on bar length, some people run the shortest bars they can get away with...I prefer to run the longest bars that I can. My 066 runs a 36" most of the time. It's a ported beast of a saw, so it has no problem running that even in oak or Euc. Besides, I can stand up straight when I'm bucking and limbing the tree after falling it...it's already a nearly 20lb powerhead, I don't want to work harder by having to bend over to cut stuff.

All depends what the saw is doing. A messy pile of euk logs all under 20 inch. Don't need to worry about the nose so much just go ham with a big bulldozer of a saw.

20 inch bar, 404 chain plus a MS 660 or 395 xp will power through 36 inch logs with only 33 cutters to sharpen. How many firewood hacks need more?

It does come down to a difference in preferred technique and philosophy. I’m in the shortest bar possible camp for sure. I’d sooner take a knee for a cut or have to overbuck or cut from both sides than have a 93dl chain to sharpen!

,Quicker to need sharped, too. It takes a fixed number is toof passes to get through a log. Fewer toofs means each toof has to make more passes.

Local guy uses 20" and 24" for felling the hardwoods on his 394 395 saws.

Put this 16" on ported 3120 and a 394 just to test and play one day. 20" shown on 94.
