A stubborn saw

I've got a 262xp on the bench. What causes the saw to die when I hit the throttle? I've gone through the saw with new seals, o-rings,filter, rebuilt carb & tank bushing. The saw starts & idles fine. Could it be a bad tank vent?

Doubt it. Tank vents act up after a while of running. Assuming you tuned it right, try another carb.

Check the muffler to make sure it has not been plugged up by mud daubers or carbon buildup.

open the low speed mixture screw a little.
