I have to say, and I don't know the proper name, the 346 was wearing a better (heavier) husky branded factory bar. I will have to weigh the 261 with a 16 ES for apples to apples.
Shame, I was enjoying the thought :)

18 vs 16 .. I guess I should weigh PHO full of fuel & oil for comparing. I just have a scale on the bench and being a geezer, check into these things.

Weigh them without fluids. This is how the companies weigh them, and how we can compare the chassis with one another, as well as with the weights the companies themselves claim. Interestingly enough, we do not have the weights of dry 362's and 261's...

You should weigh in the big fellas. The ones were there heavy no matter if they're empty, full, beginning of the day,end of the day lol

So why are your 028 weights all over the place? +/- ?

I think your scale is fubar or some of the saws are VERY filthy. Crud weighs a LOT. Or you have various amounts of fluids inside?

P.S. I work with scales that measure +/- 0.0001 gram every day. Sometimes I use the good scales too. I won't go there.....

No clue? You should see how far the serial numbers are apart. If they really made that many of these 028's it is SCARY.

Looking forward to your saw weight post because yes, my scale is low level for sure.

I wonder if Randy is sneaking in here at night and grinding on these things? You know, just to mess with me!

Most scales I use max out 50g.

Maybe I can dig out a nice Ohaus triple beam that weighs kilograms. I think we have 1 0r 3 ? and calibration weights.

P.S. most digital scales are JUNK. or worse than china JUNK stihls/huskyvarmints

I've never managed to use a saw without fluids in it, weight fully laden seems more useful
I feel the same way. Fill 'em to the top with fuel and oil, and leave the bars off. Of course, the saws should be as clean as they were on the dealer shelf. ;)

I'm sure there's a bar weight thread around here somewhere, too. Someone should make a chart with powerhead weights and bar weights for easy comparison.
