Is it possible to add a decompression valve to an older 066 that doesn't have one? I'd heard that it can be done, but before ordering the parts and trying it, I thought I'd ask. If someone has done it and has some advice, I'd like to hear it.

If it is possible, roughly how much are the parts?

Thanks,

Jim

The easiest way would be to replace it with a cylinder that already has the hole for the decomp valve, you would also need a top cover with the hole for the decomp valve. It could possibly be done by a good machinist to put the valve in, and you could cut a hole in the top cover for the valve, but it would be easier to simply install the newer parts. Not sure on the exact cost, but unless you find good used parts to complete the swap, you're looking at spending enough that selling your saw and finding another good used one with the decomp already in place may be the better route if you must have the decomp valve.
