The local news had the forester on tv saying trees need to by trimmed every 3 to 5 years to kept them safe ? Now we sit around and wonder why people always want trees topped . I do think that having your trees inspected by A pro every 3to5 years(sometimes more depending on the tree ) is good idea but to recommend pruning every time I dont think is a good idea . So was the forserter give good advise ??
 
Just trees in general making sound like they would by dangerous if not trimmed .
 
Whenever I prune I tell the owner that it will last 3-5 years. Tree growth is so unpredictable that it's reasonable to recommend regular removal of defective branches.

What's that got to do with topping?
