Get a 100-mL graduated cyl. Add the fuel in question to 70-mL, add water to fill it ( 100-mL) give it a good shaking without losing anything (got a cork)? When it settles measure the aqueous (bottom) vs organic layer (top). What moves into the aqueous layer is extracted ethanol. Take the difference in volumes of the two organic layers (organic before 70-mL /after, 70-X-mL)) and multiply by 100%. That gives you amount NOT ethanol..........
