I'm working on cleaning up deadfall in a tree plantation. So far have identified maples, black locust, red fir. None of them native to this area. Trees are huge and would make a logger drool, saw logs everywhere with DBH in the 30" range.

Oak??

Sorry to say but I suck at tree id. Basically recognize trees as deciduous or coniferous. Hardwoods out here other than willow, cottonwood and the like are rare.

Thanks all.

We don't get to look a stands of good hardwood out here. Landowner says that Washington State U outfit years ago said they were going to come out to plot and ID every tree and see how they are doing. They never showed up after that first visit.
