Another ID thread... Yeah!!!

I got a little bit of this, this year, given to me along with a large amount of other wood. My guess is a young silver maple but it looks a little pink-ish. Most of the young silver maples I see around here are ..well... silver. It holds its bark very well for how dry it is. What say you?

I love me some good spuds. I'll roast it some and try a little with some salt n pepper. I'll post the results.

If it is not silver maple then I would say red/swamp maple

Thanks for the replies guys. It seasoned very nicely since early spring and it burns great. Lights fast, burns fast and hot. Not for overnights.
