its in new jersey, in a wooded area. it's not in a yard if that's what you mean. no houses are near by
 
it has to be cut down so I will be able to get some more pictures of the end grain if that will help. Just wondering if I should put the effort into getting it out and processed for firewood
 
ok thanks. from what I have read, elm isn't that great for firewood.
