Anyone know the New Compression on a ms361 or ms290?

Wow that does seem low, I dont' feel so bad now for my 066 that is blowing 90-100 on a new piston and rings

I was thinking it was pretty low, seems to run alright.

90-100 with new piston/rings seems really low to me also.

My 440 with a 460 topend has 175 PSI with only 1 tank on a new Mahle piston/rings, and that's with .024" squish. One of these days I'll turn the cylinder base down.

It's surprising on how well it does run, I about **** when I put a tester on it, I figured it was alot higher than what it is. Surprising on what a pipe does for performance.

Oh I don't know, somewhere in the 80's

If you have a compressor you can easily check the accuracy of your gauge. Just set your compressor pressure gage to 100 psi or so, put a rubber tipped inflator on the end of your blow gun, and press it against the inlet of your gauge. It should be close, I'd say +/- 5 psi would be OK. Then set it to something higher and check it again. If both readings are within that range, your gauge is OK.
