Bar Size

The Husky 51 I picked up yesterday has no bar or chain with it and I noticed the clutch sprocket has been changed at some point. Question is, if you have nothing to go by, how do you determine what pitch and gauge to put on? The clutch sprocket has 7 grooves in it.

I have seen both .325 pitch and 3/8 pitch on these.

Try sticking both pitch chains on it. It should be easy to see what pitch it will take.
