Hi folks. Picked up a second hand saw a couple of days ago and when i pulled it apart for a clean I noticed the bar tip has open up slightly. That is from the sprocket rivets to the very tip.
If you run a straight edge along it, one side is fine and the other splays out by about 1mm. It is quite obvious to the eye when just looking at the bar. If you look onto the bar tip you can see down the side of the sprocket and see the bearings.
I haven't cut with it but I have run the saw correctly tensioned and it seems OK.
I tried closing it with clamps and such but no go.
Just forget it and use it or replace it? I have never had a sprocket let go before. Any ideas on closing it?
